The Accidentally Morbid Series
Mausoleum for Former Fishes
Copper, patinas, resin, deceased betta fish.

This is a miniature mausoleum which is the final resting place of six of my pet fish that have passed away (of natural causes) over the years. A hand-drawn "mural" is etched into the roof. The fish are encased in solid blocks of resin for preservation and sanitation. Each mausoleum drawer is etched with the name of the fish, and has a strong magnet on the back which holds the drawers in place so that the entire piece can be mounted on the underside of a toilet lid for display/show purposes. This piece was entered in the 2007 Niche Student Awards competition and received Finalist standing.
The Calling Card of a Long Lost Friend
Copper, snake skin.

The lid of this box is forged rod meant to resemble snake ribs, while a small snake skin rests in the interior cavity. There is also a hidden sliding drawer (not visible).
Fishy Spoon
Walnut wood, copper rod, brass rivets.

Though this piece is mainly carved wood, it has forged copper ribs held in place with brass rivets. This piece is highly three-dimensional, with a curve running the length of the spoon causing the tail and head to be in the air while the rib section is not.
The Bottle Cap Series
Each bottle cap is specifically designed to compliment the shape of the plastic bottle for which it was made. These are a comment on how modern commercial design often borrows from past artistic movements, cheapening the art by making it into a disposable commodity while simultaneously giving it a much broader audience and therefore giving it greater value.
Cap for Coke Bottles
Sterling silver, rhodonite.

This cap is based on the Art Nouveau style. It was die-formed and pierced. The stone is bezel set. The cap itself is functional and screws on to any Coke bottle as it was cast directly from a plastic cap.
Cap for Pepsi Bottles
Sterling silver, black onyx.

This cap represents the Art Deco movement. The entire piece is hollow-form fabricated, with a cast functional cap.
Cap for Crystal Light Bottles
Sterling silver, white agate.

This cap is based on the Modern artistic style. It is hollow formed.
